We’re encountering persistent echo issues in Poly Teams Rooms that run on Android. The problem arises specifically when participants join a Teams meeting from laptops or desktops. When these users speak, their voice is routed back through the Poly Android Teams Room, causing an echo. This feedback loop creates a disruptive effect, where the audio from the laptop or desktop user is picked up by the room’s microphone and then replayed through the room’s speakers. The result is a pronounced echo that disrupts the meeting’s audio quality.

Is anyone else experiencing the same issue in Poly Teams Rooms on Android? If so, have you found a solution that addresses this feedback or echo problem? Any suggestions or insights would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello Ahayo,

Thank you for the response. We tried the provided steps, but the issue persists. The noise is coming from the Teams Meeting Room as the microphone picks up audio from the speakers, causing an echo. However, when the Meeting Room is muted, the noise stops.

    Hello Nishanth SuvarnaAS,

Greetings! Thanks for posting in the Microsoft Community!

Based on your description, I understand that you have a concern regarding echo issues in Poly Teams Rooms that run on Android when participants join a Teams meeting from laptops or desktops. To fully understand the scenario, I would like to ask some questions to narrow down the situation work toward the resolution.

    • Please could you verify the following noise suppression features in both Microsoft Teams application on laptop device and Teams Room system are optimized.

From Teams application click on (...) Settings and more settings button >> Settings >>Devices

      • Could you verify whether the echo persists with different noise suppression settings turned on or off?
        • Could you verify if this issue happens when audio setting is local or remote?
        • The issue persists when the "Enable echo cancellation" is enabled under the "High fidelity music mode" setting.
    • Could try to mute laptop or Teams Rooms microphones and speakers to have a single audio source to prevent feedback into microphone. if both the laptop microphone and meeting room microphone are both unmuted, when participants voices, and speaker might be being pick up by microphone in deferent time.

You can try the above steps and let us know how it goes, if it does not address your current situation immediately, please feel free to reply here, we will work together to find a direction specific to your current situation.

I look forward to your next updates. Thank you so much for your precious time.
