Microsoft Teams dramatically reduces the sound quality of everything else on my computer

Hi,

I've been using Teams to meet with my teacher for a lesson for a while. I usually listen to music quietly on Spotify in the background, but it's annoying because the quality is bad. The problem happens only when I'm in a Teams meeting and with all audio on my computer except Teams. Is there anything I can do to fix this?

    Hi John,

    Thanks for the quick reply!

I don't think there is anything in the settings that I can change to solve the issue. I've tried playing around with the settings before, but nothing works. Is there any specific you recommend I try and change? Or anything else to try in general?

Hi, CX! I am John, Independent Advisor here to work with you on this issue.

To change your speaker, microphone, or camera settings when you’re on a call or in a meeting, select More options More options button> Device settings Settings button in your meeting controls. Then, select the speaker, microphone, and camera options you want.

    Hope it helps.

    Best Regards

    Hello Jake,

Thank you for your response. Actually, that was the only thing I did to my Teams before. But in your case, I would suggest to reinstall the app or send a feedback or report to Microsoft about this. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/give...

At any point while logged into Teams, you can edit your audio settings by navigating to the drop-down menu under your profile picture. Here you can edit your default settings, including audio device, speaker and microphone settings. Here you also have the ability to make a test call to confirm the settings are right for you.

    Hope it helps.
