Teams Camera keeps on zooming in and out on its own

Since the end of last week, whenever I join a MS Teams meeting, my camera now zooms in and out of my face on its own accord. If I don't want it to zoom in and out, I have to stay still like a mannequin lol! If I move it begins to zoom in/out, it has giving us some entertainment in meetings but its getting frustrated

I have checked my settings and it all seems normal and I have asked my colleagues and our settings are the same. No one else in my direct team or across the business have this issue and I can't find any information online on what the issue may be or how to resolve it!

Any help would be appreciated!

You can resolve this by disabling the Automatic Framing feature in the Camera App.

Thanks Seun for these suggested remedies, however this issue appears to be a global one as all of our conference room (8 of them) camera's starting doing this exact thing a couple of week ago. It has lead me to research recent MS Teams updates. I don't see any settings while in a meeting or on our device controller that has Zooming options. I'll try to restart the system to see if that has any impact. Thanks!

    Hello Mohiadin,

Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Community. My name is Seun and I'm happy to help.

I would like to ask, on which device are you experiencing this issue with your camera zooming in and out unexpectedly during Microsoft Teams meetings?

However, you can use the following troubleshooting steps to resolve the problem:

    A) Update your camera drivers: Make sure you have the latest drivers installed for your camera. Sometimes outdated drivers can cause unexpected behavior.

    B) Check for software updates: Ensure that your Microsoft Teams app is up to date. Sometimes software bugs are fixed in newer versions.

    C) Adjust camera settings within Teams: Even though you mentioned that you've checked your settings, it's worth revisiting them. In Teams, go to your settings (click on your on the three elipses (...) beside your profile picture > Settings), then navigate to Devices > Camera. Check if there are any settings related to soft focus and adjust them as needed.

    D) Test with another application: Try using your camera with another application (such as Skype) to see if the issue persists. This can help determine if the problem is specific to Teams or if it's a broader issue with your camera or computer.

    E) Restart your device: Sometimes a simple restart can resolve technical glitches.

    F) Disable other video-related software: If you have any other video-related software running in the background, try closing them to see if they are interfering with Teams.

    G) Update or reinstall Teams: If none of the above steps work, you might consider uninstalling and reinstalling Microsoft Teams to see if that resolves the issue.

It would be helpful to know what device you're having this issue on (e.g., laptop, mobile phone). This way, I can tailor my advice to your specific device.

I hope this information helps, if you require further help or information, please let me know.

I look forward to hearing from you.

    Best Regards,

    Seun
