App service managed certificates - auto binding ?

I would like to know if TLS / SSL Auto binding of new certificates has been added? I found this on https://azure.github.io/AppService/2021/03/02/asmc-apex-domain.html - "Your TLS / SSL bindings will also be automatically updated". From what I remember, only automatic certificate generation was added, and SSL binding had to be done by yourself.
If a new certificate is generated, is the old one deleted?

    Hi @Anonymous ,

    Apologies for the delayed response. SSL binding will be automatically updated with your managed certificate during the renewal process. This process should run 45 days before the expiration and should be able to use the certificate detectors in Diagnose and solve problems blade see any issues.
