I have had to make an alteration to an Automatic reply. This has altered correctly in outlook, but their out of office has not within Microsoft Teams. How can i alter the OOO in Microsoft Teams?

As the title reads, is their someone else other than Exchange - user - mailbox - automatic replys to change teams? does this sit somewhere else, maybe within MS Teams exchange?

Thank you.

    Hello ZanderGIB,

**I am a Microsoft user like you, providing solutions to community members; I am NOT a Microsoft employee.

I am sorry to hear about this inconvenience Zander, the issue seems to be a synchronization problem between Outlook and Teams regarding out-of-office (OOO) status.

    Potential Causes and Solutions:

    1. Outlook Auto-Reply Settings: Ensure your Outlook auto-reply settings are correct and aligned with the desired OOO period. Check if the "Send only to contacts in my Contacts list" option is enabled, as this can affect Teams' ability to detect the OOO status.
    2. Teams Out-of-Office Settings: Verify that the "When I have an out-of-office event on my calendar" option is enabled in Teams settings. Check if there are any conflicting settings or custom messages that might interfere with the automatic OOO status. Calendar Sync Issues: Ensure your Outlook and Teams calendars are syncing correctly. Any discrepancies between the two can impact the OOO status in Teams.
    3. Teams App or Service Issues: Temporarily try using the Teams web app to see if the issue persists. Check for Teams updates and install any available updates.

Additional Factors: -Consider if there are any third-party calendar apps or integrations that might be affecting the synchronization. -Check for any recent changes in your network or device settings that could impact connectivity.

    Troubleshooting Steps:

    1. Verify Outlook Auto-Reply Settings: Ensure your Outlook auto-reply settings are correct and aligned with the desired OOO period.
    2. Check Teams Out-of-Office Settings: Double-check the Teams voicemail settings to ensure the "When I have an out-of-office event on my calendar" option is selected.
    3. Force Calendar Sync: Try manually forcing a sync between Outlook and Teams to refresh calendar information.
    4. Restart Teams: Close and reopen the Teams app to see if it resolves any temporary issues.
    5. Test with a Shorter Out-of-Office Period: Create a short test out-of-office event in Outlook to see if the Teams status updates correctly.

    Hope this helps

    -Stephen N.
