Change my default for teams meetings audio from muted to unmuted

I am having this issue in all all Teams meetings I join: I am muted by default -- whether I join early and it is a two-person meeting or I join 2 minutes after the meeting has started. I looked through settings and couldn't find answers as to how to change default audio settings from muted to unmuted. That is what I need. Thanks if anyone knows

I followed the steps outlined above but do not have a "Mute automatically" toggle or anything comparable.

I see my Audio Devices laid out for my Speaker and Microphone, the options to enable 'Automatically adjust microphone sensitivity' and 'Sync device buttons' but after that it goes straight to 'Make a test call' and Noise suppression beyond that

For reference I'm using Teams in the United States and have checked both the 'standard' and 'new' versions of Teams

There is no such function as described by this user.

Please review this person and remove them if they repeatedly answer falsely.

In my situation, i would prefer joining all meetings muted. Wish all people were by default actually, as background noise is annoying.

Last week I accidentally clicked the option to mute my mic by default. Now I cannot remove this default. Today I am in a large call where all meeting audio-visual controls are locked by the organiser, so I am unable to unmute my mic and cannot even hear the call.
I cannot find an option to unmute my mic by default. Please could Microsoft suggest where to find and reset so that mic is not muted by default.

They whole issue is that they do not have a choice - as there is no option as he described to select from.

Let people choose if they want to automatically be muted or not for start of meetings.

Further to that, let the meeting creator/owner decide if they want all participants muted when they join as well.

Seriously, just let people decide.

These instructions are not correct. I have the same issue and followed these instructions. I do not see in the settings under "Audio Settings" any options to "Mute Automatically".
