  1. As the owner, after adding a tab in Teams, will it show up for all members automatically or members themselves have to add the tab ?
  2. How to restrict such that members can add Tab, but not remove them ?

Is there any update to this? Just the other week I had external team members lose the ability to view a MS List Tab within Teams. I cannot seem to find an answer to why they lost the ability to see this tab with Teams. The users are able to access the list view by going to a browsers and entering the specific link but this does not seem like a good long term solution.

I have an odd situation where one team one of the owners created multiple tabs in a channel and a couple of members are unable to see the newly added tabs unless we make them an owner of the team. All other members of the channel can see the tabs just a select few cannot. Having to make a member an owner isn't an ideal situation, nor a good solution to fix the problem. Is there anything we can check to see why this would be the case? Oh, and if we set them back to a member they lose the tabs again.

    Hello J3r0m3.qU3k,

Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Community. My name is Gunasekar and I'm happy to help.

    1. As the owner, after adding a tab in Teams, will it show up for all members automatically or members themselves have to add the tab ?

As a team owner, when you add a tab in a channel, it becomes immediately visible to all team members. There's no need for them to add it themselves—it will appear in the channel's navigation bar.

    1. How to restrict such that members can add Tab, but not remove them?

Members are the people in the team. They talk with other team members in conversations. They can view and usually upload and change files. They also do the usual sorts of collaboration that the team owners have permitted.

If you’re a team owner, you're in control of many settings and permissions of your team. The following describes how to adjust them.

    • Go to the team name and select More options >Manage team.

    • In the Settings tab, check or uncheck the options or permissions that you want to use.

Thanks, but not sure I am getting your answers clear. I am not referring to Channels. I am referring to Tabs in a Channel for example. IF a Tab is added, will it automatically appear for all members in the channel, or it has to be manually added by the member themselves ?

And then my next question is, is there a way not to allow member to Remove new tabs by themselves. They may add new tabs, that is fine, but not able to remove tabs.

Hello, I'm Jen, I'm happy to help you today.

1 - All members of a team are automatically added to standard channels by design. If you only need to add selected members

2 - In the newly opened window, click on Settings and then expand Member permissions. Uncheck the boxes next to actions you do not want Team Members to perform (i.e., create and update channels or create and remove tabs) —- 4b. Let us know how it goes, we're here to help you further if needed. Jen A.
