Custom tiles in SharePoint Server 2019

We have a SharePoint Server 2019 farm with one web app with several host header site collections.

I followed the steps in https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/sharepoint/administration/custom-tiles-in-sharepoint-server-2016, but no tiles are showing in app launcher.

Yes, tried to clear the cache with the "ClearSuiteLinksCache()" command in browser and open (several different browsers) in private mode.

Any ideas?

The ClearSuiteLinksCache() function is not available for modern sites in SharePoint Server 2019. And it may take up to 24 hours before you can see it appear in the app launcher.

I've set this up several times now. First thing I've noted is that you need to have a MySite web application and a MySite host site collection created and then have it set in the user profile service application. If you do not see OneDrive and SharePoint listed under the app launcher currently then most likely the MySites are not configured in the farm.
