Nested Loop Components

Good afternoon, I am running into an issue with loop components, specifically task lists.

I have a meeting notes page within loop that I am looking to use to keep track of notes, agenda items, and tasks during that meeting.

I am also looking to track the tasks in its own to do list component, so that way one doesn't need to hunt from meeting notes to meeting notes to find particular to do tasks.

When I try to make a master to do list, and then place it in a page, it initially works fine, however, if I then copy the meeting notes as their own component, ie for use in a teams chat or an email, the task list now only displays as a link, or as a link with the to do logo next to it.

    Hello, Horus829.

Welcome to the Microsoft Community Forum. Please accept our warmest regards and sincerest hope that all is well.

If I understood, you correctly you are experiencing issues with task lists in Microsoft Loop. And it sounds like you're trying to create a master to-do list within a meeting notes page, and then copy the meeting notes as a separate component. However, when you do this, the task list within the master to-do list is only displaying as a link or with the to-do logo next to it.

One possible solution to this issue is to try embedding the master to-do list within the meeting notes page, rather than copying it as a separate component. To do this, you can click on the "Embed" button within the master to-do list component, and then select the meeting notes page as the location to embed it. This should allow you to keep the task list within the master to-do list visible and accessible within the meeting notes page, even if you copy the meeting notes as a separate component.

As explained in the link below though, Microsoft Loop is still in Public Preview. As such, there are still features that need to be improved, and so problems might still occur with my suggestion above.

Where is the "embed" option, that does not appear to me anywhere within loop?

Hello, is your intention the same as mine?

    For example:
For meetings that are weekly with the same attendees, same teams meeting (ie Marketing meeting), it would be good to just have one task [master list] list instead of getting new task lists (that creates their own planner) each meeting.

I've been trying to figure out how to just add one planner that catches all tasks during the meeting vs 1 new task list each time...

    1. Create a page with the Action Items table.
    2. Make the Action Items table into a Component.
    3. Copy that Component to each meeting page as needed.
    4. Use the "Copy Loop Component" function for the meeting page.
    5. Copy into meeting invite.
    6. All Action Items from every meeting are reflected on the main page.

When I do this, I see the page itself as a Component and the Action Items as an independent Component within the page.
