Refresh All not following query property settings

I'm using a template I built about a year ago...  little has changed except for excel's behavior regarding refreshing queries.

I have 28 queries in total.  Some are set to "refresh this connection on refresh all".  Some are not set to do so as I prefer to manually refresh when needed.

Lately, pressing refresh all refreshing only one query and, oddly, it is one that is NOT set to refresh this connection on refresh all.  I must now manually refresh each of the queries which were updated by the press of one button a couple weeks ago.

I tried repairing office which did nothing to solve the problem.

Any ideas?

    Hi DJG_Rx,

As per your description, we understand you set some queries to refresh this connection on refresh all via go to right-click on the query and select Properties from the menu and some are set to manually refresh but when you click on refresh all it will also refresh that are not set to  auto refresh.

I have tested from my side manually set refresh query then when press “refresh all” does not meet issue as you mention.

Please try the following steps and see if it works for you.

    1. Make sure you’ve updated Office to the latest version that some issues can be resolved with such method.
    2. Try open your Excel insafe mode to see if the same problem will occur.

3.Could you please check in query property dialog box did to check “Refresh every…minutes” if yes please try to uncheck and see the outcomes.

If the issue still persists, could you please provide some information for us to better understand.

    1. What’s your Excel version? Open Word > File > Account > Production Information and share a screenshot of it.  (Please mask your private information.)
    2. Does the issue happens on all files or a specific one?

3.Could you please share with us screenshot of manually set query properties dialog box.

I appreciate your patience and understanding.

    Best Regards

    Thank you Waqas,

    Please find my responses below.

    1. Make sure you’ve updated Office to the latest version that some issues can be resolved with such method.
    • Both Windows and Office were updated to latest version available
    1. Try open your Excel insafe mode to see if the same problem will occur.
    • The refresh worked correctly in safe-mode.  Disabling the COM add-in "MYSQL For Excel" resolved the problem.

3.Could you please check in query property dialog box did to check “Refresh every…minutes” if yes please try to uncheck and see the outcomes.

    • See query properties below
