HOTMAIL KEEPS ON ASKING FOR A SECURITY CODE

I've been trying to get into my Hotmail account for the past 30 minutes. I was connected alright this morning and then I started getting this:

Help us protect your account

Since you're trying

to access sensitive info, you need to use a security code to verify your

account. How would you like to receive your code?

I've been through all the necessary steps. I'm being offered to get a code through an old Gmail account I don't use anymore (7 years!!!). Then, I'm being told that my account will be on hold for a month. Then, I'm asked for another account to send a code. I give the one I know and the system tells me that this account is already linked to my first account. WTF is going on with Hotmail? Am I gonna have to switch to almighty Gmail again?

I am reeeeaaally losing my temper on this one!

Thanks for any help!

Chris

Still trying!!

Now I got this:

Help us protect your account

To verify that this is your email address, enter it below and click "Next" to receive your code.

And I CAN'T USE THE DAMN ACCOUNT FROM GMAIL. I CLOSED IT YEARS AGO. NEED TO ENTER MY ACCOUNT NOOOOW!

    Hi Beaumont007 and Art Critic,

I sincerely apologize for not being able to answer your concern in a timely manner. I know how important for you to be able to regain access to your account again. Let me help you with that.

I just want to know if you still can't access your account?

If yes, we need to get in touch with our Microsoft Account team who are experts in sign in issues.

To contact them, please fill up the e-form in the link below as a private support request to address your concern on a one on one basis with a Microsoft account support then provide the affected email address and other personal information in a secured environment:

    Microsoft Account e-form link

This should help you resolve your issue. I'm locking this thread now so that other users who have a similar issue will create a new thread.  This makes it much easier for us to find people looking for the same support.

    Thank you.

And now I get that "Come back and finish your thread"

I mean... "come on!" Get your things straight! I don't have anything to finish... I AM waiting for Micromorethansoft to give me an answer to my problem. In what kind of goey substance do Microverysoft engineers have their neurones floating in?

It's even worse - when I go to my backup account the message there states "If you did not request a code, your account may have been hacked."  So - is Microsoft doing this or have we all been hacked???
