New Meetings Experience option has disappeared

When I logged on to MS Teams this morning and started my first meeting, it opened in a separate window. Months ago I had turned off the new meetings experience, so this is the first time this has happened in months. The new Meetings option is no longer available, and I do NOT want a new window for each of my meetings. How can I turn this off?

    Hi Vanessa_909,

I'm Nik, an independent advisor here to assist you with this.

If you don't see the "Turn on new meeting experience" settings in the general setting of your profile then this has been removed in the latest Teams updates.

The plan was to keep the "New meeting experience" by default as most of the major meeting features(e.g. breakout rooms, video views etc.) only works when "new meeting experience" is enabled.

Also, as per the techcommunity blog,

"In the near future, we’ll turn the experience on by default. Eventually, the setting to turn it on and off will go away."

    For more, see https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/microsof...

    Regards

    Nik

    Nik,

I have exactly the same issue as Vanessa. The separate window simply doesn't work for me - especially when looking at a shared screen. Why on earth would an option be removed? What harm was it doing?

This is a horrible UX decision. I absolutely hate multiple windows and there was a reason I always kept it toggled off.

Having the option turned off is absolutely awful.  One of the worst decision I have seen lately.  It makes sharing screens extremely difficult.  The option to turn off should be added back.

Yesterday my meetings were still opening in new windows, today they don't and I would like them to, but without the option in the settings, I have no way of turning this back on... Is there anything I can do? If I understood you correctly, it should be on by default, but for me it actually got turned off somehow.
