Google mailer daemon "undeliverable" messages in hotmail junk box. Elaborate spam??

My [my name]@hotmail.com spam/junk folder is full of the following format messages:

Email from "mail delivery subsystem" <******@googlemail.com>

Your message wasn't delivered to [my name]@aol.com because the address couldn't be found, or is unable to receive mail.

The response from the remote server was:

554 delivery error: dd This user doesn't have a aol.com account ([my name]@aol.com) [-9] - mta4065.aol.mail.bf1.yahoo.com

There is always an .eml attachment to these which I never open.

I am SO confused how an email from the google mailer daemon account is in my hotmail spam box, addressed to an aol account with a yahoo server!!

I'm 90% sure its elaborate spam, but it's confusing the hell out of me now. If my account is getting spoofed, surely the mailer would send it to the gmail spam box instead?!

    Hello special,

Upon searching the error messages that you've received, it stated that when you get a message MAILER-DAEMON" or a "Mail Delivery Subsystem" with a subject similar to "Failed Delivery," this means that an email you sent was undeliverable and has been bounced back to you.

If your email is not delivered to a particular domain, it is more than likely due to a spam filtering. They might place your email address in the from field because lots of email program are not that smart filtering spam.
