CalDAV support on Outlook.com

Question

Is there a way to sync outlook.com calendar via CalDAV? Yahoo, Apple, Google all support CalDAV out of the box, but it appears Microsoft's flavour doesn't?  I pay for Office 365 subscription but I doubt that makes any difference to how I can interface with it.

My beloved Windows Phone naturally had a good calendar client with full EAS support so this worked well for me, but now that the phone is de-supported I have to settle for a Google-free version of Android. And the only decent open-source calendar clients available use the more open CalDAV protocol, not EAS.

Is there a way? And if not, isn't it time Microsoft introduced support for it given Windows Phone users have been forced to switch to non-Microsoft devices?

I simply want to be able to view *and edit* the calendar from a privacy-conscious app like Simple Calendar (which support the now-totally-standard CalDAV), on my phone.

I can use the native Android calendar to sync via EAS instead, but it is a very limited app (for example, it uses the same colour for all events under same calendar account, which is frustrating when you have other people's calendars shared under the same account).

I'd have thought these days it was just a no-brainer for MS to introduce server-side CalDAV. It's as if there some silly annoying business reason why they haven't.

I don't work for Microsoft - this forum is "staffed" with other users - so i can't speak for their official policy or what the silly business reason is, but yeah, you'd think in this day and age, they'd support it. I've been asking the product group for CalDav and CardDAv support in the apps for 15 years.

When they added support for gmail calendars to mac outlook and mobile apps they didn't use the caldav - they set up a microsoft cloud solution that uses exchange server.

BTW, I would use an adjective a little stronger than 'silly' to describe it. :)

Haha.  Yes, I'm just hoping there is someone, somewhere, in the back of the MS Outlook dev department that actually reads this stuff, maybe takes it some minor encouragement to do something productive, like enter the 21st century and integrate with other stuff!

Clicking that box notifies me that it did not answer the question/resolve the problem. In this case, there is no resolution - because it's not possible, but the question was answered. (They really need to reword that, because many questions can be answered 100% correctly but not resolve the issue.)
