Recover deleted items in Outlook for Mac using Exchange/O365

We are using corporate Office 365 (cloud Exchange).  I know that I can easily recover deleted items in the Windows version of Outlook, there is a button on the top ribbon to do it, but that same button does not appear in the Mac version of Outlook.

Is there a way to recover deleted items from within the Outlook for Mac client?  Or am I stuck using webmail or the Windows client?

Thanks.

Hi Jason,

I did some search about the recover deleted items button in outlook for mac.  The recover deleted items button is not available  in the outlook for mac client. So we cannot directly recover deleted items within the outlook for mac. If you are using office 365 account in the outlook for mac, and you want to recover deleted items, you can sign into Outlook Web App. In the Outlook Web App you will find the recover deleted items button in the deleted items folder like this:

On the other hand, if you concerned about the feature” recover deleted items” button in the outlook for mac client. I recommend you can vote for this good feature on Recover Deleted Items Support in outlook for mac. Microsoft will always focus on customers experience and they would add some good features to our products in future according to the number of votes.

Thanks for your understanding.

Regards,

Oliver

    Hi Jason,

Thanks for your vote and sharing.

I understand your current feelings. Yes, if there is a recover deleted items button in outlook for mac, it will be more convenient to recover deleted items. However, different systems have different features, just as you said some applications are not available for the mac, so the recover deleted items button is not available in the outlook for mac at the moment.

And on the other hand, if there are many people voting for this good feature as you did, Microsoft would add this good feature to the outlook for mac in future, and your good ideas and feedback will help us continuously improve our products and services.

Your understanding will be highly appreciated.

    Regards,

    Oliver

Thank you.  I figured as much, but I was just hoping that I was missing something.  It almost seems like MS leaves features out on purpose from the Mac version.  I don't know why this couldn't have been added; there are many corporate users that connect to Exchange/O365 that use Macs (myself included), that may, on occasion, need to recover a deleted item.

    I voted for the feature.

I have a Windows VM that I use for some applications (like Visio) that are not available for the Mac, so I can use Outlook there to check for the deleted deleted items from there.  It just would have been more convenient to have used my native Mac client.

    Thanks again.

    Jason
