Outlook for Mac - Total Attachment Size Exceeds Limit, constantly appearing

I am using Outlook for Mac version 16.5 on my MacBook Pro and last year an error message started appearing: "Total attachment size exceeds the limit. Try removing one or more attachments before saving or sending." It constantly is appearing and I am not trying to send anything. I have no uncompleted emails in the Drafts folder and I have emptied the trash. I have even started to delete old emails with attachments. I still get the error window and even after I delete it, four minutes later it appear again. It has gotten so annoying that I have changed email programs, but still return to Outlook occasionally. I have an iMac on which I use Outlook and that mirrors the emails on the MacBook Pro and I have no problems on it. Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks,

Dave

Hi there, I´m Ivania. I´m an Independent Advisor and a Microsoft user like you. I´ll be glad to help you today.

Please try clear the folder cache by right clicking the folder and then click Properties > Empty cache in Outlook for Mac.

Some users managed to get rid of this message by cleaning both the inbox and the outbox.

If it doesn't work, try to delete and re-add your account, it could be that the account is corrupted.

    Best regards,

    Ivania

    Hello,

thank you for your reply to my issue. I attempted what you instructed but I could not locate properties in any of the drop down menus. I did a control+click on the inbox folder for the affected email account and did not see properties listed. Should I be doing something different?

    Thanks,

    Dave

Thanks but the link did not add any additional information. I still was not able to locate properties for the folder. I deleted the account and them added it and that seemed to do the trick.
