Good day!

I have received some e-mails (from @outlook.com and member*@outlook.com) lately which claim that I have asked for a cancelation of my e-mail account. As I have suspected to be a scam I have deleted the e-mails. However, I have decided to report the one from "*****@outlook.com" as an abuse: virus, spyware, malware. However, as I have reported that, I received a copy of my report, and the sender of that e-mail has been me, it was sent to osemar@microsoft.com and a copy was also sent to me.

The content of that e-mail was some coding in the message text and an attachment was some 57 kb "Microsoft Corporation team" file, and an icon of that file was an envelope. I have rather not opened it.

Is osemar@microsoft.com an official Microsoft Corporation´s e-mail address, please?

Thankfully yours

Martin

Email sent from Microsoft is sent from @accountprotection.microsoft.com. If you believe an email is suspicious, do not click on possible links and delete it. Personally, I find that email address strange.

Ahá, my apologies to you, if you have meant it this way in your first message that you can not see the addresses I am posting.

The e-mail address, where an e-mail with the report from my address has been sent, was "osmar" and after "at" was "microsoft.com". I have written it even to the title of this thread, so that everyone dealing with this potential problem will be able to find this.

I can't see the email addresses. Since this is a public forum, the addresses are encrypted.

    Thank you for your reply,

but is that osemar@microsoft.com a Microsofts's e-mail? And the matter has taken place on my e-mail and not on the Forums.

Moreover, is it possible to hack a "Report abuse" process? I as this second question because I have reported that e-mail using the "Report abuse" function within my outlook s-mail, but I have seen that an e-mail has been sent to osemar@microsoft.com, which looks suspicious to me.

    Respectfully yours

    Martin

    Welcome Martin,

I'm an independent advisor, a fellow user and I'm here to help you. The email addresses in the forum are encrypted being a public forum. Only emails received from @accountprotection.microsoft.com are reliable emails.

If the sender is different, it's a phishing attempt to try and get your login information. Therefore do not click on any link and delete the email.
