Disable the users from adding email accounts to Outlook.

Question

Hi,

I need to disable the users from adding email accounts to Outlook.

I need to apply through GPO.(registry key is there but I want to know how apply from GPO)

Outlook 2016, 2019, 365

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Outlook\Options
DWORD: DisablePOP3
Value: 1
DWORD: DisableIMAP
Value: 1

You'll have to drill down to the actual policy key;

Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\office\16.0\Outlook\options

Here it will show all the values of that policy option;

And POP3 and IMAP will no longer be available once the policy has been applied successfully;

Not in the Classic dialog either;

• User Configuration-> Administrative Templates-> Microsoft Outlook 2016-> Miscellaneous-> Prevent users from adding e-mail account types

Outlook 2016, Outlook 2019 and Office 365/Microsoft 365 Apps all use the same policy templates.

Have you verified that they policy keys are being written in the Policies hive?
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\office\16.0

If not, force a policy refresh with; gpupdate /force

If you are still having issues then; Do other policies from the same policy template get applied successfully?

yes, I have verified that the policy is not updated in the registry file, but another policy is working fine in the same template.

This I have already tried it's not working in windows 10, is there any other option is there? kindly suggest pls .

At the same time, I need to Restrict the addition of the account in the outlook O365 client.
