"New" Outlook for Windows UWP App (Preview) Installed Without Permission

I use Microsoft Office Home and Business 2019 Click-to-Run on my Win 10 v22H2 laptop. After the current Version 2304 / Build 16327.20214 (rel. 25-Apr-2023) update was automatically applied on 02-May-2023 a toggle switch labelled "New Outlook" appeared in the top-right corner of my MS Outlook 2019 interface prompting me to switch to the “new” Microsoft Outlook. At the time I had no idea what the purpose of this switch was but later found more information about this preview of the new Universal Windows Platform (UWP) / Microsoft Store app in the Microsoft support article Getting Started With the New Outlook for Windows and the Microsoft 365 Insider blog at Starting to Support Third-party Accounts in New Outlook for Windows Preview.

I hovered my mouse over that toggle switch to try to find further information about its purpose but I am certain that I never turned that switch on, and the next day I was appalled to discover that this preview of the MS Outlook for Windows UWP app v1.2023.425.600 had been installed on my system without my permission.

Shame on Microsoft for installing this unwanted bloat on my system. I don't want to be used as a guinea pig for testing this buggy software (and I don't use MS Edge, so I don't want hyperlinks in emails automatically opened in this browser - see the 03-May-2023 TheVerge article Microsoft is Forcing Outlook and Teams to Open Links in Edge, and IT Admins Are Angry), especially when I already have a paid "perpetual" license for a MS Office product that includes MS Outlook 2019.

Note that I have already sent feedback directly to Microsoft using the Feedback Hub at https://aka.ms/AAkqsra. I too have posted my response below to feedback but feel the need to vent here:

To the Outlook Dev Team for UWP: Something has changed with the spam filter (safe senders) within the new UWP Outlook and now our internal emails are being treated as 'suss', but the old 'binary' version of Outlook does not do this. These emails are our 'legitimate' AAD TLDs that are EXO internally routed, and of course are listed in our GAL but are now having 'content blocked'. Further, any MS Form 'responses' sent to our users via ******@powerapps.com are also having the content blocked.

Am I expected to make EXO rules for our trusted TLDs now? And then, update the EXO spam filter with 1, 100, 1000, 100000 individual emails and 'uncommon' trusted TLDs?

What is going on? Are we going to get a method to manage individual safe lists for the UWP version of Outlook? I mean sure not, right as even you (Microsoft have clearly stated not to rely upon the Safe Senders list, as I note this article and screen capture shown below; seems contradictory right?

Sadly, that annoying "Try the new Outlook" switch has re-appeared in my MS Outlook 2019 after disappearing for a few days.

Does anyone know if uninstalling the Microsoft Outlook for Windows Preview v1.2023.425.600 from Settings | Apps | Apps and Features will permanently remove both this app and the "Try the new Outlook" switch from my MS Outlook 2019 interface, and could this possibly do any harm to my current MS Outlook 2019 installation?

The latest MS Office Home and Business 2019 C2R Version 2304 / Build 16327.20214 update also added unwanted garbage to my MS Outlook 2019 ribbon (e.g., my Home tab now has a new "Find Time" section with a button called "New Scheduling Poll") but every time I try to customize my ribbon and click "OK" the changes are never saved. However, when I tried to customize my ribbon I did see a check box I hadn't noticed before for "Outlook Beta" as shown below. I disabled this check box yesterday and haven't seen the "Try the new Outlook" switch since then, but is that actually the purpose of this check box?
