How to set up personalised email address and use with different passwords in Outlook 365

I have a 365 Family subscription. I have a domain purchased through GoDaddy. I want to have 4 personalised email addresses using the domain (******@this.com, ******@this.com etc), one for each of our family. We do not use outlook.com and prefer to use Outlook 365 as POP3/SMTP. We each have separate user accounts in windows but share the one MS account for using the apps.

How can I set up 4 email addresses, one for each user (user a, user b etc), each with it's own different password ? I also do not want this password to be my MS password. This is how our email is configured today with 3rd party email addresses. Each user uses Outlook 365 with email account configured each with a different password. I would also prefer not to have to create 4 separate MS accounts.

I've managed to create one personalised address through outlook.com so know the domain is linked to my MS account but now Outlook 365 is forcing the password to be my outlook.com = MS account password. I understand outlook.com password = MS password and cannot be different. That's OK, I won't be using outlook.com. But when I use Outlook 365 I want a different password for each email account and specifically different from my MS password. Do I need to configure the address manually as POP3/SMTP - even so, how will I find out or change the password ? How will I then create 4 different email addresses ?

I have got the one new email to work with outlook.com (sends/receives OK) but Outlook 365 keeps giving me 'Outlook cannot log on. Verify you are connected....' message on opening. When it does open my existing old 3rd party email address can send and receive OK. The new email does not show as ******@this.com in the left hand folder pane but instead shows under my gmail address. In the account settings it does appear to be my new email address but shows as a Microsoft Exchange type account. I haven't been able to send or receive from Outlook 365 and cannot now delete this new account to start over (I was going to attempt manual set up but I will need a password........)

Note I use my gmail address separately as my MS account sign in, specifically to keep it separate and password secure.

After some internet research I went ahead and created a new profile, added both POP accounts and linked pst files.

    Then deleted old profile.

    All working fine now.

    Thanks Ron

Yes I understand, I set up my MS account with an existing gmail address as I did not use outlook.com I know the password for my gmail account has nothing to do with my MS account that uses the gmail as a 'username'. Needing to use it as sign in for outlook.com is a bit confusing !

I've now managed to set up POP access in Outlook 365 for my new email personalised address. I now need to delete the MS Exchange account I created in error. If there is a way of doing that without needing a new profile that would be easiest.

However I think I may need to delete that Outlook profile and start over. That profile now has 3 emails associated with it - the old email 3rd party, new email MS Exchange not working and new email POP working.

Note I use my gmail address separately as my MS account sign in, specifically to keep it separate and password secure.

You are using the Gmail address as a 'name' to access your MS account.

Your password will be for the Microsoft account and will have nothing to do with the Gmail password.

I will answer your other post later.

OK - I understand you are saying I will need to have 4 separate MS accounts and use each to create their own email address through outlook.com. I can do that.

    A couple of questions remain:

    1. How do I use an email address [created via outlook.com] with Outlook 365 ? Where will I find the password to use for the POP setup ? Does this also have to be the same as the outlook.com password and therefore same as MS password ?
    2. How can I delete the existing (new email address) account in Outlook 365 that is not working ? My Outlook 365 currently has 2 email addresses - my old one working fine and the new one not. It is wrongly configured as MS Exchange and should be POP. My error in setting it up I guess but I cannot delete it. It says "You cannot delete this Outlook data file. Configuration information in the file is being copied to your new default data file. You can delete the file after this information is copied" (outlook.com is still working OK)

    thanks

A personalized email address is an alias to an outlook.com account.

Only one address can be setup for each outlook.com account.

You can share the Microsoft 365 subscription with 5 different outlook.com accounts.

Each share can create a personalized email address using the domain purchased through GoDaddy.

You will be using the outlook.com/office365 server to host the personalized address.

What you are trying to do should be done with a business subscription.
