Outlook top menu ribbon disappeared; how do I get it back?

For some reason the top menu ribbon in Outlook suddenly disappeared. I can see it if I click at the top of the app, but it goes away again as soon as I click elsewhere in Outlook. I want it to be permanently visible like it has always been. Ctrl+F1 doesn't do anything. Any suggestions? Thanks.

    Hi David,

Thank you for your response. What version of Desktop client? I don't know what that is. I posted the versions of Outlook and Windows in the OP. Do you need something else?

Regarding your link, the example shows that I should click on an up arrow icon as a first step, but there is no such icon in Outlook (see my attached screenshot). Unfortunately, the guide provides no context. Is it someplace else?

    UPDATE: Found the solution:

Thank you for your response Diplocaulus.

    >> If the ribbon isn’t visible at all (no tabs are showing), then you probably have the state set to Full-screen mode. Select More (...) at the top right of the screen. This will temporarily restore the ribbon.

    >> Click the More icon

    >>When you return to the document, the ribbon will be hidden again. To keep the ribbon displayed, select a different state from the Ribbon Display Options menu.

    * uncheck and check the Always show ribbon box*

    Hello!

I'm kind of having the same issue! The ribbon will not stay on top when I select "format", it disappears. I have pinned it to "format", I have hit the ribbon icon on the top and selected "show tabs & commands", and the minute I send the email, its gone again. I have read your article link, done everything in that, I have researched the internet and I don't find any solutions to this! I use format a lot with what I do, so every email, I have to go to the message tab, then the ribbon pops up, then I can select the format tab and it will stay there, but only for that 1 email. HELP!!
