Using New Outlook on Windows for personal email, calendar, and contact management
Would be nice if the new outlook would stop trying to upgrade. I had to put in a registry edit to prevent conversion to a product that is inferior.
This browser is no longer supported.
Upgrade to Microsoft Edge to take advantage of the latest features, security updates, and technical support.
The new Outlook desktop client currently in preview looks to me like the online version hosted in a browser control.
Will the new Outlook desktop client support MAPI automation?
I don't mean 'can I add a MAPI mail account to it'.
I mean 'can I automate the new Outlook from an external program and create new mail messages using the MAPI interface?'
Thanks

Since the new Outlook seems to be a browser application the answer I suspect will be JavaScript, or bypass it completely with SMTP, or talk to Office 365 directly using the graph API.
