Work emails showing up with a black background

Hi,

Emails that previously had a white background have turned black, they randomly change between white and black for all the users that have access to the inbox.

They were all white up until last week and now all the ones in the inbox from the same source have turned black.

Is this an outlook issue?

    Not sure if this applies to anyone else. We had a user that was experiencing this issue and it turns out it was an out-of-date iOS Outlook app that was the culprit. For some reason, the outlook clients would change the page color to black when receiving the iOS message causing it to display black. Once the thread is set that way, all the replies regardless of what version of outlook you're using Web app or Client, it will continue the black page color.

    Nothing was noticeable from the App side, only once someone received a message from the out-of-date app would the whole thread turn black.

    I also have this issue. My iphone outlook app only randomly a few months ago started using a black background with black text.....Super frustrating. I do NOT have the settings in dark mode, so what happened?

    Happening with me with my email sending program - ActivePipe and reading in Outlook 2019. Is this being escalated for a fix?

    We assumed this was being escalated long ago when the problem was first posted.

    On April 11, 2023, Vaidya Darpan MSFT, Microsoft Agent/Moderator replied to the OP with the implication that a solution would be provided.

    So far, no one has followed up.
