I'm having trouble adding my gmail account to Microsoft mail account.

I need to be able to toggle between my outlook account and my Gmail account. The error message I'm getting says, " We weren't able to set up your Google account with IMAP. You may need to make changes to your Gmail settings & it gives me a link to click. Once I click the link it offers various different solutions but I do not see my solution.

I'm just not sure where I need to go from here.

I've enabled IMAP, I've enabled 2 factor authentication...I'm lost.

In the meantime, I'm forwarding my emails from google to outlook, but this does not solve the problem of being able to toggle between the two for sending emails from either account on the microsoft server.

    First, you are trying to configure third party email account in Outlook, you need to refer this detailed steps article https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/add-a-gmail-account-to-outlook-70191667-9c52-4581-990e-e30318c2c081 

    Also, you need to check app password related scenario from google side to configure your third party email account on Outlook.
