Outlook for MAC is not syncing sent folder for IMAP account

Hello,

Has anyone seen an issue where the outlook app on MacBook pro is not syncing sent messages in the local sent folder with the sent folder on the email server? This issue is for a domain and email hosted through a 3rd party hosting provider. The outlook app uses IMAP settings to connect to the email account.

The emails, however, are being sent to the destination, and it is just that a copy stored in the sent folder of the outlook app is not syncing with that of the email server through IMAP.

I would appreciate any ideas on how to fix this. Many thanks for considering my request.

    Has this been resolved yet?

    I have the same problem:

Emails sent on Outlook for iPhone connected to the third party IMAP server appear in the sent folder on the phone and on the sent folder of the third-party server and on the sent folder of Outlook for Mac.

But emails sent on Outlook for Mac connected to the same third party IMAP server only appear in the sent box of Outlook for Mac, and do not appear on the sent box of the third party server, nor in the sent box of Outlook for iPhone.

In other words, when it comes to sent mail, Outlook for IPhone mirrors the third party server just fine. Outlook for Mac for some reason does not.

Thank you, for your thorough response.

I contacted the support through Chat. The email account in issue is set up using IMAP set up in the Outlook app. It appears the issue is a known issue. If there is someone who is experiencing the same issue, below is what I received from Support.

    ====================

Thank you for the information. The above behavior is identified as a bug with IMAP accounts where the sent folder does not synchronize with the webmail and a report is already filed with our engineering team who is working on the same with High priority. We do not have an ETA for the same at the moment. Please keep Outlook updated all the time to receive the fixes as and when available. You may refer to the link below for release notes to know about the fixes and features included in every update in Outlook.

As a workaround, you may switch to the classic version and that should work. Please let us know if you have any further questions. Thank you.

I have the same issue. Does anyone from Microsoft is working to fix it? We use outlook for work, not for fun and we cannot lose sent emails.

    Hello,

I have the exact same problem with the new outlook interface, the thing is if i switch to the older interface the sent folder syncs but i can't see the sent emails that were sent during the new interface cause they aren't on the webmail server. Is there a solution to this? I can't afford to loose two weeks of sent emails!

I understand it is a bug but this is a very important function that is not working and after almost 2 weeks there is no update on the application to fix this bug.

Is there an update for the fix?

    Thanks in advance
