I re-read your symptom and I am not sure if it's the same but Outlook does have a bug with long links, Outlook error “Cannot send this item” when replying to an email (microsoft.com).
Safelinks are truncated after 2048 characters in Microsoft Outlook Client for Windows 10
Hi All,
I am facing a problem while opening a hyperlink which is more than 2048 characters long through Outlook 2016 client on Windows 10. When I click the link in the email. I am redirected to the link in a new browser window, but then I get an error as below.
When I try to do the same from web client (outlook.office.com), the link opens correctly and I am able to perform required action. When I tried to compare both the links I found that Windows outlook client truncates the URL to 2048 characters which leads to URL information being lost and causing the failure screen above. Is there a workaround for this?
