Gmail blocks my emails sent from @outlook.hu address

Starting today I cannot send emails to gmail accounts, I've even tried sending one to my own gmail and it does not work.

I'm using @outlook.hu as an alias for my original old @msn.com address, a change that Microsoft prompted when they discontinued hotmail and renamed the service outlook. When I send the email from my original @msn.com (which ironically does look like a spam address) it goes through.

Needless to say, this is infuriating.

The email I receive back from postmaster does not help at all:

mx.google.com rejected your message to the following email addresses:

xxx

Your message couldn't be delivered because the recipient's email server (outside Office 365) suspected that your message was spam. To fix this, try to modify your message, or change how you're sending the message, using the guidance in this article

EDIT: Moved FROM Outlook / Windows / New Outlook for Windows / For home TO Outlook / Web / Outlook.com / Email.

    Good day, Benedek FarkasHU.

I've asked for an update from our engineering team about this issue. But there are no new updates as of today. It still being investigated is the only answer I get. And no estimated time of when this will be fixed has been provided when I prompt for one.

To those who have commented in this thread thank you for reporting this problem here. I know it's in short supply, but I do appreciate the patience you've shown with this issue. I will post an update here when I do have one.

    Regards,

    Glenn

    Good morning, Benedek FarkasHU.

Welcome to the Microsoft Community Forum. Please accept our warmest regards and sincerest hope that all is well despite the situation you find yourself in.

Based on the description provided above, you are unable to send emails to Gmail accounts while using the @Outlook.hu alias on your MSN.com account. But if you use your actual MSN.com account everything seems to go through without any issues.

At this point you need to start a service ticket with our Outlook.com in-app support team. They are a team that deals mainly with issues involving the inner workings of an email address from a Microsoft domain (like @hotmail.com, @live.com, @outlook.com, or @msn.com). They have the tools and expertise to help you with this issue.

To contact this team, please follow these instructions:

    1. Click on the Help option (A) and then he Help option with a red question (B).

    1. On the right side of the page help section will pop-up. In it will be search box. Please type feedback in the box and press enter.

    1. After pressing enter a bunch of results will be presented. Ignore those. Click instead on the on the "Yes" button at the bottom.

    1. And you will get the window below. Please click the option highlighted in the photo in red to get a specialist from our Outlook.com in-app support team.

I appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to resolve this issue.

    Thank you for understanding.

    Respectfully,

    Dear Glenn,

Thank you so much for your swift response! I did create a service request, however after I click on the "start chat" button it simply opens a new empty tab

As you can see I'm using the edge browser so hopefully that is not the issue :) Image

Thanks for replying back, Benedek FarkasHU.

Your issue seems to be one of several I've encountered that is in connection to an Outlook.HU account being blocked from sending an email to a Gmail account due to it being detected as spam.

Please note that Microsoft is aware of this issue and is investigating it. This issue specifically affects certain Outlook domains, such as Outlook.HU; Outlook.FR; Oultook.SK; and Outlook.CZ. Anyone with the aforementioned domains cannot send emails to Gmail accounts as they are mistakenly identified as spam.

For now, thank you for your patience and for reporting this problem to us. The affected teams have been notified but have not yet issued an ETA on the solution. We will update the thread as needed as soon as we have an update.

I appreciate your cooperation and understanding in solving this problem.

I hope to hear from you soon.

    Regards

    Dear Glenn,

I am facing the same problem, but in parallel to this thread I was trying to contact Google Support.

Unfortunately they couldn't help. Here is their answer:

"There are a couple of reasons why Gmail might be blocking your emails sent from an @outlook.hu address. Here's how to troubleshoot the issue:

    1. Gmail has strong spam filters that might flag emails from unfamiliar addresses or those with characteristics typical of spam.
    2. The @outlook.hu domain might not have a good reputation with Gmail due to past spam activity from other users.

    Solutions:

    1. Before resending, check your email content for anything that might trigger spam filters like excessive use of exclamation points, ALL CAPS text, or suspicious attachments. Refer to Google's guide for email best practices: [email best practices for senders ON Google support.google.com]
    2. If it's a specific recipient, reach out and politely ask them to add your @outlook.hu address to their Gmail contact list or whitelist. Whitelisted addresses are less likely to be filtered as spam.
    3. While unlikely to directly fix the issue with Gmail, Outlook support might offer suggestions to improve your @outlook.hu sender reputation.
    4. If the problem persists, using a different email address for communication might be necessary.

    Additional Tips:

    1. Try sending a test email to yourself at a Gmail address to see if it's being delivered.
    2. Ensure your Outlook.hu account isn't sending emails from a blocked sender list.

We highly recommend contacting Outlook support directly. Outlook support can provide you with the most up-to-date information and guidance on resolving your specific issue."

Well, we are waiting for a solution from Microsoft a.s.a.p.

    Best regards,

    Ferenc Oláh
