new outlook client : Windows 10 taskbar will not unhide

Question

If the taskbar is set to auto-hide, and Outlook in full screen, the taskbar will not show up again, even when hovering the mouse over the edge of the screen.

With any other program, it works (the taskbar, comes out if hiding on top of the displayed program).

I have the same question. More specifically, now that you have forced adoption of the new version of Outlook, why have you built it so that the task bar no longer appears when a user moves the mouse to the bottom of the screen? Frequently I need to access other applications while drafting an email so it is a serious interruption of work flow to have to minimize Outlook just to quickly fact check something in another window.

Mike, thank you for the useful work-around. It remains regrettable however, that Microsoft released an upgraded Outlook that breaks one of the more useful features of the operating system.

The problem is that Microsoft's Outlook dev team implemented 'Fullscreen' mode rather than 'Maximise' the window. 'Fullscreen' was designed by Microsoft for game developers, where Gamers don't want the taskbar popping up and interrupting their gameplay. It's use in Outlook is a great example of how it should NOT be used. This is such an easy fix for a usability problem that affects every User.

Totally agree, my workaround is to press the windows key. this brings up the task bar & start menu,

Minimize outlook then resize using pointer to fill the screen down to the level of the task bar, keep this sizing and then the task bar will always show when pointer is at the bottom of the screen
