Stuck in an authenticator app loop

Hi there

I am logged into my outlook account (via Godaddy) and I am trying to change my security info in the account section. When I click security info, it says I need to authenticate via the authenticator app. When I open the authenticator app, I am asked to add my account to the app, and when I try to do this, the authenticator app tells me I need to verify using the authenticator app..therefore stuck in a loop with no other options to verify myself.

Help.

Thanks

Microsoft: You are not reading the problem nor addressing it. This is an authentication loop. The application keeps asking for a two-digit code to progress forward!

There needs to be a mechanism for recovery outside of the application that is broken.

How about the multi billion dollar company fixes an idiotic problem. I consult for several companies and have no issues jumping between their Google workspaces, Microsoft makes it impossible.

30 percent of our users are having similar, they are all setup with MFA which they carry out on a daily basis, for the past 2 days they have got this which is going into a continous loop. Our workaround is going into intune - revoke sessions and get user to logoff and log backon. This is a poor solution and a case of another problem that microsoft create without informing clients and then give really poor answers on their own site.

on further investigation, users habits seem to have caused a lot of problem, at end of day they will lock their pc and not close outlook or their browser or traveling users will just close laptop lids and then open them next day instead of logging off. This of course will have cache problem. I've found that as long as I close outlook and my browser of an evening and then lock the pc. My quickest method of re-authenticating is use my new teams - click sign in - as this is always open in the background and seems to have priority on login - the authentication will go through process and then all other apps outlook and edge are then available to that authenticated account.

This is my problem too, i'm stuck in an infinite loop. Reinstalling does nothing to solve the situation.
