Hi there

I am logged into my outlook account (via Godaddy) and I am trying to change my security info in the account section. When I click security info, it says I need to authenticate via the authenticator app. When I open the authenticator app, I am asked to add my account to the app, and when I try to do this, the authenticator app tells me I need to verify using the authenticator app..therefore stuck in a loop with no other options to verify myself.

Help.

Thanks

    Hi Leonardo,

We have a small business and have used a personal hotmail.com email address for the business for over 15yrs.

Microsoft locked the email account due to suspicous activity, and now for the last month we cant find any way to talk to a person to help unlock the account by providing any evidence/proof MS require. Please can you help.

The issue seems to be the same with the authentication loop. There is no way to see the code to enter. Tried numerous ways to get the emails which are vital to my business. I saw a possible point to talk to data protection, we would gladly do that.

Please help as this is costing my business thousands of pounds now.

    Thanks

    Lak

The only way I solved this was by finding the old iPhone (which was deactivated but still had Wifi connectivity) and accepting the push on that device. Then I unlinked the old iPhone so new push notifications would only be sent to my new iPhone. I am not sure there is a solution if you no longer have access to the old device. If there is, I think it would involve figuring out how to unlink the old phone from your account. But that is probably not possible as I imagine you need first to authenticate before being permitted to unlink.

    Hi

I hope you're still able to see this! I have a new job and new email address, and I'm in a really fun loop with MS Authenticator:

    1. download
    2. in order to proceed, have to enter my new work email address I'm trying to setup
    3. the next screen within the app contains a two digit code that I am to enter within the app
    4. this obviously isn't an option, so I move onto
    5. Apps>ms auth>clear cache, clear data>uninstall>power off device>reboot in safe mode>clear device cache>power on device
    6. download ms authenticator
    7. repeat steps 2 through 6 several times

    Please advise how to proceed???
