Outlook crashes when drafting emails

Every time that I begin drafting an email in outlook, the app crashes after I have written 1-3 sentences. I have tried restarting my computer and the app but no updates are available. If I copy and paste text into the email box, then I can still send emails (sometimes) before the app crashes. I think the issue is with having the drafted email open.

I can use the website version of Outlook but I prefer the app so would like to get this sorted out. Any help would be very appreciated.

turning "check spelling as you type" off seems to make my day.

    Rasmus,

Can you please test if an Online Repair mitigates the issue? This is what the Office Team says should mitigate it and I want to confirm if that is the case.

Go to the Windows Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features, click Microsoft 365 Apps for enterprise, click Change, click Online Repair.

Thank you very much, this fixed the problem for me.

After repairing, German was still present as language but I had to reinstall proofing.

I reinstalled it, enabled proofing and it no longer crashes.

⚠️ Unwanted side effect, the Office programs got unpinned from my taskbar so it messed up all the pinned document I had before...

Yes, this fixed the problem for me also. Thank you very much for following through on this issue!

I also had to reinstall the proofing language, but besides that had no issues at all.

I'm still curious as to what caused the problem. This issue with crashing when using a language other than English only came up a few days ago. For months/years before no problem at all. I noticed in Microsoft Store that the German Language Pack was updated August 8 - could it have something to do with that?

Thanks again Gabriel for your help - very much appreciated!

It didn't solve the problem for me.
Strange thing is, it crashes always after 20 Character.

I did a quick Repair and a online repair. I even de-installed every proofing language accept English.
If I type English it works fine. If I type in German it crashes again after 20 characters.
