When will the new Microsoft 365 Outlook Desktop App be forced?

I have a customer who uses an ERP/CRM system which uses Microsoft Office hooks to send emails, which do not work with the new Microsoft 365 Outlook Desktop App. It works with the "classic" Microsoft 365 Outlook Desktop App.

That wasn't really the question. The question is, when will there be a forced switch to the New Outlook if you are using classic Outlook (especially in a corporate environment). We need to know a deadline, so we can prepare our users for the lack of add-ins in the new version that are currently being used. Like the original poster, we are using both a CRM and document management system that uses old-style COM add-ins for email management, and we need to know when these will stop working.

Note the Standalone Outlook is supported until Oct 13, 2026.

That is not correct the Classic Office Outlook has a switch now to try "New Outlook". If we are not going to be forced to switch at some point, why would that be there in the Classic Office Outlook? Something that's new means that what you are using is Old.

"The M365 classic outlook is still the recommended version for a business setting." This is true. I work for a company using Exchange Server. However...

When prompted to "Try the new Outlook" which, mistakenly, I did, because I thought I could "try" it and be able to switch back if I didn't like it. :-(

Once I tried it, I was then presented with what amounts to the web version of Outlook, complete with the removal of most Outlook functions that I need to use. The ability to [Ctrl] click on multiple Tuesdays in the calendar to see only those Tuesdays - gone. These are really the only days I need to see in Outlook, and it has been very handy to work with Outlook (since 2003). The ability to "Recall" a sent message from the server if it has not yet been opened by the recipient - gone. Availability icons next to recipients - gone.

WHY in its infinite wisdom is Microsoft REMOVING such useful functions as part of a "new" enterprise-level product? You should ADD function with updates rather than removing function. Without that one feature, I may as well just switch to Google Calendar since "the new Outlook" is nothing more than a web calendar anyway.

It took me awhile to figure out how to UNDO the update, as the "toggle" disappears once you "try the new Outlook." Very frustrating. I wish I could make the "Try the new Outlook" button disappear.

We can understand giving switch to new out look in Mail for windows. But the question is why its given in Outlook for office 365. This means this "new outlook" will replace outlook for office also ? This is way too confusing even for people with technical background. If microsoft is stopping outlook for office please declare it.
