Outlook: why do I have duplicate contacts that show a web page beginning with "ms-outlook://"?

Question

Using Microsoft 365 (latest version), now most of my contacts have “duplicates”, and the duplicates all show a web page beginning with “ms-outlook://people/…”. Some of the duplicates are not “exact”, so I am not sure where they are originating.

I also have an iPhone, and I use iCloud for Windows to synchronize these contacts. All of my Apple contacts are in a separate Outlook “group”, and it is working perfectly. The ‘duplicate” contacts are also (somehow) in my Apple iCloud contacts, but I don’t know how they got there.
