How to Open Emails in Separate Window in New Outlook

I cant select the open new window in customise actions

Hello Limor1,

Good day! Hope this finds you well.

In the new outlook, you can double left click on the email from the list to open in a new tab. If you need to add it to the quick actions to appear beside sender names and subject lines in your message list, in the reading pane, click on more actions ... >Customize actions >check the option to open in a new window in the customize reading pane actions.

Thank you for your response.

I completely understand. If you go to settings >Mail >Customize actions, this option is not available in this page.

To access these options, you have to go to the reading pane on top right of the email and click more actions (...) like in screenshot below.

Then customize actions from the vertical list of options.

Then you should be able to see more options including the open in new window in the customize reading pane actions.

If you still can't see this, please let me know.

Hello Limor1,

Glad to hear that you found it.

Currently, I'm afraid it is not feasible to automatically open a new window for every incoming email since they have to first land in the list within the inbox. You can only do this manually with a left click or the "open in new window button" for now.  I do understand your need for this, and we will surely raise your concerns with our product team and hopefully this can be included in future updates.

In the meantime, since the first response helped to clarify on this issue, if you don't mind, you can as well submit your vote below the reply so that it is pinned at the top and other community users can easily find this thread. You will have helped many of them in case they have a similar query.
