Hi CoachRWRWalker Greetings! Thank you for posting on Microsoft Community. I will be happy to help. I am a user just like you and only trying to advice/ assist in the best possible way to resolve your issue.

This issue might be due to the reason that you may have a remnant file from a previous installation of Outlook. Here's what you need to know and how to proceed:

Reasons Why scanpst.exe Is Missing Incomplete Uninstall: An old uninstall of Outlook may have left leftover files while removing the main tool. Non-standard Installation: If Outlook wasn't installed through the typical Microsoft Office setup, scanpst.exe might be missing. The new outlook app does not have the scanpst.exe

Solutions: Locate a Valid scanpst.exe, this only work if you have the old outlook app installed.

Default Location: The location of scanpst.exe depends on your Outlook version: Outlook 2019: C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\root\Office16
Outlook 2016: C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\root\Office16</0> Outlook 2013: C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office15</1> ... and so on Search: Search your computer for "scanpst.exe". If you find it in a valid location, copy it to the correct folder for your Outlook version (see above).

Reinstall Microsoft Office: If you can't find scanpst.exe on your computer, the cleanest solution is to reinstall Microsoft Office: Go to Control Panel -> Programs and Features. Uninstall your current Microsoft Office installation. Reinstall Microsoft Office.

Important Notes: Don't use the .db file: You cannot rename the .db file to an executable and expect it to work. Backup: Always create a backup of your Outlook data files (.pst, .ost) before any repair attempts. Hope this helps and answer your question. Thanks

I already said that it cannot be found on my PC

I reinstalled Microsoft office and the file is still not on my computer

It says my Outlook version is version 2401. None of those "default locations" exist on my PC

Hi. I'm Brian and I'll try to help.

This forum is dedicated to problems with the new Outlook for Windows app. The new Outlook for Windows does not use a PST. Which Outlook are you using? Do you have a File tab, then a Home tab, then Send/Receive, then Folder, then View or do you have Home, View and Help?
