My contact lists have stopped working in new Outlook.

My contact lists have stopped working in new Outlook. When I look at the People icon, the list of names and email addresses is still there, all correct. When I enter the name of the list on an email, it appears to insert correctly. But the email won't send. The message "can't send right now, try again later" appears. If I hover the mouse over the + sign on the list name in the address field, it claims the List has zero members. What is going on?

    Hi Stuart Pegler

Thank you for posting in the Microsoft Community Forum.

I understand that you're experiencing issues with your contact lists in new Outlook. Based on the information you've provided, it seems like the issue might be related to the synchronization of your contact lists.

I'd like to ask a few questions to better isolate the problem.

    • Can you tell which specific account has the problem? Just provide us the domain if it's @outlook.com, @hotmail.com or something else.
    • Is this a personal account or work/school account?
    • What is the configuration of your email? Is it on IMAP, POP, or Microsoft Exchange?

To troubleshoot this issue, I would recommend the following steps:

    1. Check if your Outlook is up to date. You can do this by going to File > Office Account > Update Options > Update Now.
    2. Check if your internet connection is stable and working properly.
    3. Check if your contact lists are synced with your email account.
    4. If the issue persists, try creating a new contact list and see if it works. If it does, then the issue might be with the specific contact list that you were trying to use.

If none of these steps work, please let me know and we can explore other options.

    Sincerely,

    ReynaldoB

My contact list never worked unless I expand the list which I can do but it seems stupid to do so. I am using a @gmail.com account. I don't want to take your time but I have never gotten this to work correctly. My Office account is up to date, it is a personal account and the contact list was created in my gmail account.
