Hello,

We have already setup some Linux VM Servers on Azure Cloud and would like to perform/enable some specific monitoring on them.
We have installed some applications on these servers like: PostgreSQL DB server, Apache Web Server etc.

What we would like to monitor are as below:

1- PostgreSQL DB specific parameters monitoring like DB size, table size, cache, db resources.
2- Having visibility from Azure portal to some specific text log files that are inside an application folder.
3- Count the number of files in a specific folder and folder size monitoring.

How can we achieve these specific monitoring tasks and is it possible to monitor them ?

Best regards,
Ilir

Thanks for your question. As mentioned in the document below, monitoring of PostgreSQL on Azure VMs is customer managed while PostgreSQL as PaaS on Single Server, Flexible Server, and Hyperscale (Citus): All offer customers the ability to set alerts on the database operation and act upon reaching thresholds..
Can you please review that information and let me know if you have any further queries: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/postgresql/overview-postgres-choose-server-options#administration
