Hi,
It is more difficult to complete an interrupted installation at this stage.
During the entire install scenario, early on in the process Windows will copy all the files it needs from the USB drive to your hard drive. Typically after the first reboot, you can remove it. If the installation process needs it again, it will ask for it.
I think its still trying to boot from USB since you changed boot order. So it keeps booting into setup.
Add the hard drive back to the boot order in BIOS, then it will boot.
Then you can try to see if it can be repaired or reinstalled.
Hope above information can help you.

Well managed to get the USB Drive back in the Boot Menu.
Not sure what solved it.
So I restarted the installation from scratch.
Then at reboot to complete installation.
On Windows 10 Logo sreen: BSOD showed up at around 3% in: DRIVER PNP WATCHDOG BSOD error
Now stuck in that loop again. With BSOD saying DRIVER PNP WATCHDOG BSOD error (or sometimes DRIVER POWER STATE FAILURE).
Looks like it could be either Driver related (due to malware or similar).
What do you think?
I'm thinking about. Trying the install again. See if this is consistent behaviour.
If so, try bootable antivirus to check malware coulld be the initial cause of this mess.
Only thing is my USB drive is gone from Boot Menu again. So I'll need to get back to seeing it in order to confirm if BSOD is consistent throught install attempts & if using bootable anti virus could tell me anything more about this.
Hi,
I agree with you, it may take several attempts to determine the main cause of the problem.
It is recommended that you troubleshoot according to the suggestions given by the following website:
https://appuals.com/driver-pnp-watchdog/
Note: This is a third-party link and we do not have any guarantees on this website. And Microsoft does not make any guarantees about the content.
Also, if you recently added hardware to the system, try removing or replacing it. Or check with the manufacturer to see if any patches are available.
And try running the hardware diagnostics supplied by the system manufacturer.

Hi @Jenny Feng
Thanks for your response.
Turns out:
After cleaning viruses from boot sector and re-installing Windows 8.1 (this time)
It worked: for a while (immediatly after installa and setup)
Then it's back to that same loop again for all subsequent reboots.
Showing: DRIVER POWER STATE FAILURE mostyl this time.
Re-installing Wndowss 8.1 keeps failing now with that same DRIVER POWER STATE FAILURE error when Windows reboots to complete install (when it had gone throught at 1st attempt).
I'll leave it for a few hours then get back to it in the evening UTC. Looks like this will be a trial and error. And Hopefully not a hardware issue (no hardware change though).
According to your description, Multiple different Bug Check is usually a hardware problem - even more likely on a recent build or major upgrade.

If it is determined that it is a hardware problem, I am afraid you still need to seek help from the manufacturer.
