Hi,
As per researching, some users reported the same issue that updated builds of Windows 10 will have default power settings. So, once receiving a new windows update, you might need to change the settings again.
Someone also mentioned that built in Fast Startup feature can interfere with these settings. You can try to turn off the feature to see if it helps.
Press Windows key + X
Click Power options
Click Additional power settings under Related settings
Click Choose what the power button does
Click Change settings that are currently unavailable
Uncheck 'Turn on fast startup (recommended)
Click Save changes.
Click Restart now and see if it works.
Another workaround you can have a try is to set Power settings via local group policy.
- Open administrative Command Prompt. Type POWERCFG /LIST and hit Enter to get a list of available power schemes; here * implies active plan. Please note down the GUID for the plan you’d like to set as a specific plan.
- Press Windows Key + R combination, type put gpedit.msc in Run dialog box and hit Enter to open the Local Group Policy Editor.
- In the left pane, navigate here:
Computer Configuration -> Administrative Templates -> System -> Power Management - In the right pane of the window shown above, double click Specify a custom active power plan setting which is Not Configured by default to get this:
- In the above-shown window, firstly click Enabled and then in the Options section, input the Custom Active Power Plan (GUID) as we copied from step
If all above could not resolve, we suggest that you can report the issue to Feedback Hub so that the developing engineers can check it.
Thanks,
