Hi everyone,

I have a problem. I am a system administrator in a company with 100 clients. About 10-15 of them have been encountering the same error "Out of memory or system resources. Close some windows or programs and try again" over the last couple of weeks. I have tried the following solutions:

  1. Repair
  2. Uninstall/Reinstall
  3. Reset the app
  4. Repair the PST file with scanpst

The only solution that worked was moving them to the new Outlook, but it doesn't have all the services yet from the original Outlook. Is there any fix for this?

    Hello,

Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Community.

I understand that several of your users are encountering the "Out of memory or system resources" error in Outlook, and you have tried several solutions without success.

Here are some additional steps you can take to resolve this issue:

    1. Press Windows + R keys to prompt the Run dialog box
    2. Type Regedit in the search box and press Enter to open the Registry Editor window.
    3. Navigate using this path:HKEY_CURRENT_USER> Software> Microsoft> Office> XX.X> Outlook> PST

    1. Then right-click on the blank area, select**New,**then click on DWORD (32-Bit).

    1. InputUseLegacyCacheSizeas theValue nameand change thevalue to 1

    1. Save the changes and exit the Registry Editor.

Restart your computer for changes to sync. Since there is a shortage in the available resources for the app to function well, removing unnecessary cache will help beat down the space consumed.

    1. Launch Outlook and go to Files
    2. Click on Info and select Account Settings.

    1. Choose Data Files and select the profiles or associated PST files you don’t need

    1. Click on Remove

By following these steps, you should be able to troubleshoot and hopefully resolve the issue

If you need any further assistance or have additional questions, Please let us know if you need any further assistance!

Thank you! Have a nice day.

    Sincerely,
