outlook for mac is autoconfigure is broken in 16.86+

I have multiple business email accounts that use different servers.

One particular email account stopped working after upgrading to 16.86 (and the 16.86.1) in such a way that no matter what I put in manually or if I used the autoconfigure based on email address, it would go to the wrong server.

if I go to 16.85, everything works as expected with exchange servers looking to be correct in the settings format.
This is a serious breakage of functionality.

How do I do that in the legacy setup? Legacy is currently required by the admin of the exchange server.

    Or is there another avenue?
