Getting error when trying to run Windows Update - "We couldn't connect to the update service."

I have tried all the basic methods and ran the troubleshooter

Hi @Harlan Lax ,
A friend called me the other day and asked me to help him with the same problem. After trying various ways to "reset" the Windows Update manually and also trying the WURESET tool, I ended up using the Windows 10 Update Assistant

I think it took about an hour in total to download, install, reboot and update. But afterwards, the Windows update worked like a charm.

hi!, good idea with Assistent, but I had the same issu but on windows server 2019. Do all on the list on the top this post but with out result. Can't connect to update services. Any Idea how i can fix it??
