Hi All,
I installed visual studio 2010 ultimate on my windows 7 system, while running the project I am getting the message
"Msbuil does not contain a value for the "VCTargetPath",
but I am able to find the VCTargetPath ->Windows+R+regedit.
can any one suggest me What I am doing wrong...

I suggest you provide more information. For example --
1) Is VS 2010 SP1 installed? All other VS2010 updates installed?
2) What kind of solution/project are you working with? Maybe share a sample that reproduces the problem.

I am using MFC application.
VS 2010 SP1 means Service Pack 1. You should probably install it.

Can you create a new MFC application with the New Project Wizard?
While creating a simple MFC application also getting the same error.

I am able to find both vales in my system.
There were other suggested solutions in the SO thread besides the registry edit.
According to second solution:
Able to find first path and changed the vale 2.0 to 4.0.
but not finding the 4.0 folder in the path HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\MSBuild\
could you suggest me how do I create the folder and set the value .

You can manually add the 4.0 key and the values with regedit.
After manually adding the key ,
Is it necessary to restart the system?
I doubt it.
But for the values in the Wow6432Node the path for the .Net Framework is probably different than it is for the 64-bit registry. In my VM that has VS2010 installed this is what the Wow6432Node key looks like -

For my working VS2010 installation the 4.0 key in the Wow6432Node section of the registry had a value of 2.0 for DefaultToolsVersion. Did you try with 2.0 instead of the 4.0 suggested in the SO solution?
