comes up with error that the files cannot be access, or something similar, i can't tell now as i have tried to fix this but now outlook doesn't open. I think it was because for some reasion the upgrade decided to move my entire documents file to onedrive, then so vault file wouldn't sync and then now of the pst files either would sync, outlook didn't work i think because the files weren't synching, but this is a guess. So i tried to start up the new outlook to fix the problem, but of course, microsoft hasn't made the new outlook able to load old PST file so now i have zero email history. when will this completely stupid piece of software actually allow people to transition ? currently microsoft is destroying my business because it can't work out how to upgrade software without destroying everything, if this can't be resolved immediately i have no choice but to move to a competitors software.

    Dear Brendan Moss,

Good day to you and thanks for your post in Microsoft Community. I'm sorry for the inconvenience you've encountered. To better assist you, could you please provide more details such as:

    • What type of account do you use? It means it created by yourself or by organization - school, company.
    • What version of Outlook do you use?
    • What platform do you use? Desktop app or web app?
    • What license do you use for Outlook?
    • "Outlook doesn't open" so did you try with another platform like web app, use another browser, use your account but login other devices? How is the results?
    • In my understanding, you created a backup all your mails before upgrading classic outlook to new version, is it correct? Did you remove something? And then after upgrade, outlook cannot be open, so you try to use new outlook. Would mind sharing me some screenshot about the issue you face to?

Once again, I sincerely apologize for the unpleasant experience. I look forward to your information and if you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me - I’ll be happy to assist you. Wishing you a wonderful day.

    Best regards,
