Outlook for MAC running off new outlook app is slowing my MAC down considerably.

I have a MacBook Pro 2021 with 16GB of RAM. I use Microsoft Outlook for MAC and access it through the Outlook app in the new outlook format. My MAC has started running really slow and the little beachball sign comes on when I try to do simple things like adding a new signature etc to my email. I have been online with Apple support who spent some time looking over every process. The conclusion is that Outlook is writing a lot of data in the background constantly and sometimes it is using 80 to 90% of the CPU to do this. I have cleared the cache in legacy outlook and various other things but it is making no difference. Any ideas?

    Hello,

I understand how frustrating slow performance can be, and I appreciate your patience as we work through this.

There are several factors could be causing Outlook for Mac to run slowly:

    1. A large number of emails in the Inbox can slow down synchronization with the mail server.
    2. Logging is enabled in Outlook for Mac, which may impact speed.
    3. Sorting items by less-common fields can take longer.

For more details and troubleshooting steps, you can check out this helpful guide: Outlook is running slow - Microsoft Support

In the meantime, I suggest creating a new profile to see if that improves performance

If none of these solutions work, I recommend reaching out to In-App Support for further assistance. Microsoft engineers have additional tools that might help resolve the issue.

    How to Contact Support:

    1. Click the Help menu in the Outlook client.
    2. Select Contact Support to get direct assistance.

I truly appreciate your patience. Troubleshooting can take time, but I’m here to help! If you have any other concerns, feel free to let me know, and I’ll do my best to assist.

    Best Regards,
