Try opening Word in application safe mode and check if it opens fine. To do this,

Click on start>run> type winword /safe and click OK.

Note: There is a space between Winword and '/'

If Word works as expected, the issue might be due to add-in(s) installed.

    If this message occurs when you start Word, you have either a defective autorunning macro or add-in.

    Yes it is when I am opening an application.Here is the error that is popping up - Run-time error '91'. Object variable or with block variable not set.

    When exactly do you get the run-time error 91?

    Is it when you are opening the application or while trying to  access the data in it.

    By writing the code correctly.  In most cases this is an error where you have missed putting in something.  Or declared something improperly.

    Other than that, how could we possibly tell you - specifically - how to fix it if we can not see your code?

    But hey...

    You need to add an End With.  No wait.  You need to properly Set your object variable.  No, wait...
