Mail Merge HTML doesn't work, but plain text and attachment do.

Using Word 2010, Outlook 2010, Windows 7

Mail Merge HTML format doesn't work.  Plain text and attachment work (except for having to click "Allow" twice for each recipient.

Went to  hotfix KB980681, but it said that it was for plain text and attachement.  It suggested using HTML instead of doing the hotfix, but HTML is what I want to do.  I've read all of the threads that I could find on the topic.

Any solutions?

Please update your Office to Service Pack 1 and verify again.

There are many cumulative update about mail merge in this service pack.

And I can confrim with you that, with the Service pack installed, I'm OK with merge mail in HTML format.

    Sincerely,

What happens when you try to do the mail merge using the HTML option?

You may also refer to the following thread and check if it helps, it is for Word 2007, but should be applicable for Word 2010 as well.

    http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/office/forum/office_2007-word/mail-merge-to-html-format-not-doing-anything/da168c0c-d118-47b3-8832-a05455922ac6

You may also check how the Mail Merge option works if you try to do the mail merge from within Outlook 2010.

Thank you so much for responding.  I so much would like to find a fix for this.

It looks like it is sending them (It scrolls through the names), but no one ever receives them, and they don't show up in Send.

Read that thread, and others.  Tried many things.  No luck.  Many suggested the hotfix KB980681, but when I went to the download it said it was to fix plain text and attachment, not HTML.  Should I try it for HTML?

Same thing happens when I try it through Outlook, except that it seems to do the final step quicker.

Thanks again for responding.  All help is greatly appreciated.

What type of an account is configured in Outlook 2010, i.e. POP 3 / IMAP / MAPI / Exchange Server?

Also do normal HTML emails go out of Outlook 2010 without issues?

If HTML emails from Outlook work fine, try to uninstall and reinstall only the Word 2010 application from the Office 2010 suit and check how it works.
