Import IE favorites to Chromium Edge

Question

I am looking for a script (not picky if vbscript, poweshell or what) to copy IE favorites to chromium Edge.

This will be used on a deployment of over a 1000 users. Plan to launch script from GPO at user login, script runs in background, NO USER INTERVENTION.

I realize Edge has a nice first run pop up and ability to import at the first run. The point of what I am looking for is to automate this process with no user interaction required.

Where I work already has the general Windows 10 Edge Chromium deployed.

If we were to replace this by pushing out Edge for business, would this help mitigate the issue of the first time Edge runs? If we "upgrade" to Edge for business would we be able to force the import script (set to import from the default browser) to run on all installations?

Thank you so much for your kindly reply.

As mentioned, if running the Edge browser for the first time, we can easily set this policy AutoImportAtFirstRun to import IE browser settings to Edge at the first run. But now we already have Edge Chromium deployed.

Based on the provided similar cases, it should work if we uninstall Edge and clear all the browsing data and then reinstall the Edge (such as upgrade to Edge for business). Edge will have first run experience.

If possible, we could make some tests firstly. Thanks a lot.
