Inserting a Power Point slide/picture into a Word Doc without losing editing...

I took a screenshot and pasted it to a slide on Power Point.  I then edited over the screenshot to create referenece points, by putting numbers over the screenshot, on the slide.  Everytime I try to paste the screenshot into Word the editing is lost...  Any suggestions?

Use SaveAs in PowerPoint and change the file type to JPG, choose Current Slide, OK.

The slide will be saved with the same file name as you PPT file, but with JPG extension.

The will capture the whole slide, the screenshot and your annotations, into one file that you can now Insert into your Word file.

    All the best

I use PowerPoint for this type of scenario all of the time. :-) It looks like you're missing two things:

    1. Make sure the screenshot and your additions to the screenshot are grouped. (Draw a selection box around the objects to select them, right-click the selected objects, point to Group, then click Group.)
    2. When you paste in Word, click the arrow below Paste, click Paste Special, and then paste as a image (I typically use .png)

Alternatively, in PowerPoint you can right-click the grouped objects and use the Save as Picture option and then insert the image in your Word document.

Insert the screen shot into Word and format it so that it is behind the text and then place the numbers over it in the required positions in Word

Alternatively take a screen shot of the Power Point slide (or print it using the Snagit Printer (www.techsmith.com) and insert that into the Word document.
