Integrating PowerBI to SharePoint

I have three major issues - I’m building a dashboard on PowerBi and the data comes from multiple excel files that is updated on a team’s sharepoint. Firstly, I’m not being able to establish the share point connection to powerbi despite of following all the steps. Secondly, the excels I’m talking about are updated on a monthly basis on the sharepoint itself. This data requires some ETL, how do I write the queries for the transformation so that these can be applied automatically to the future updates without manual intervention. Thirdly, my stakeholder wants the ability to make direct edits on the dashboard interface, not sure how to achieve it.
